Pitti Imagine is an Italian company devoted to promoting the fashion industry worldwide. The organisation is responsible for international trade fairs including Pitti Uomo which as referred to by GQ.co.za is the biannual fashion circus that transpires in Florence, Italy – perfectly situated between London and Milan during men’s fashion season. The renowned menswear trade show takes place at Fortezza da Basso, a masterpiece of the military Renaissance architecture.
“Pitti Uomo is the world’s most important platform for men’s clothing and accessory collections and for launching new projects in men’s fashion” according to PittiImagine.com. The 90th edition of the men’s trade show referred to by GQ.co.za as “the Super Bowl of modern street style” took place from 14 – 17 June 2016. The elaborate men’s street style on display had us glued to our Instagram feeds as we followed the likes of local South African blogger, creative and genius behind the lens; Trevor Stuurman as well as international street style photographer StreetStylEvgenio and the official Pitti Imagine Instagram account for the best of Pitti Uomo street style snaps featuring the ever confident men with the most remarkable wardrobes who flock to Pitti Uomo to have their picture taken.
Pitti Uomo 90 saw an overall event growth in attendance figures with respect to the 2015 edition as the number of buyers in attendance increased by 3% and the total number of visitors surpassing 30 000.
Here we share some incredible images of Pitti Uomo taken for us by Candice-Reney Jooste, South African super talent behind the lens who is lucky enough to currently be living in Florence, Italy as a Polimoda fashion student.
